Sewa Parv 2025 sparks youth engagement across J&K with Sports activities

SRINAGAR, Sept 25: The ongoing Sewa Parv 2025 is witnessing energetic participation from youth across Jammu & Kashmir, combining sports, service, and social awareness. Organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports (YSS), the fortnight-long celebration from September 17 to October 2 is channeling young energy toward fitness and civic responsibility.
In Srinagar, over 4,200 youth took part in yoga sessions, cleanliness drives, anti-drug rallies, unity runs, and traditional games. Pledges for community service and a drug-free society marked the spirit of the day.
Districts like Anantnag, Budgam, Doda and Tangdhar hosted impactful events including cycling races, athletics meets, Kabaddi, Wushu and Volleyball tournaments. In Doda, DC Harvinder Singh inaugurated inter-district Kabaddi and UT-level Wushu events. DYSSO Budgam, Ghulam Hassan Lone, emphasized the campaign’s role in building social responsibility.
A symbolic cycle rally in Tangdhar Valley raised strong awareness against drug abuse. With competitive events and awareness drives continuing across districts, Sewa Parv 2025 will conclude on Gandhi Jayanti (October 2), reinforcing ideals of unity, health and community service.
Meanwhile, Govt High School Kotla, along with neighboring schools, organized an Inter-School Sports Meet in Zone Pouni, District Reasi, as part of Sewa Parv 2025. Students from primary and middle schools competed in Kho-Kho, Volleyball, Kabaddi, and races. The event was inaugurated by Zonal Education Officer Raj Kumar Sharma, with Raman Suri as guest of honour. Head Master Yash Paul Sharma highlighted the importance of sportsmanship. Dr. Amit conducted a session on health and first aid. Prizes were awarded to winners, and the event was coordinated by Chief Education Officer Deepak Gupta.
