North Kashmir T20 League begins

KUPWARA, Sept 8: The Kilo North Kashmir T20 Premier League 2025 began today in the scenic Lolab Valley, marking the first-ever inter-district cricket tournament in the region. Organized by the Indian Army, the event aims to promote peace, unity, and youth engagement through sports.
The opening ceremony featured Commander, 8 Sector Rashtriya Rifles and Fayaz Ahmad Tantray, ZPEO Sogam, who unveiled the trophies. A traditional Rouf dance by students of Hamid Chara Army Goodwill School, Chandigam added cultural flair to the event.
In the inaugural match, Friends XI Lolab faced Wallur Sports Hajin. A total of 98 teams competed in the qualifiers across seven locations, with the top eight now set to battle in Chandigam. Organized in collaboration with local youth groups and sports bodies, the tournament highlights grassroots talent and is expected to be attended by BCCI scouts. This initiative not only showcases the region’s sporting talent but also serves as a platform for unity and community development across North Kashmir.
