JAMMU, Aug 30: To celebrate National Sports Day, the Sports Authority of India (SAI) Jammu hosted a conclave on “Career Options in the Sports Industry.” The event, attended by over 100 athletes, parents, and sports officials, featured 10 expert speakers discussing diverse career paths in the sports sector.
A jury of SAI coaches judged the speeches, with Sharanya, a Badminton trainee, winning the Best Speaker award. Akila Punj, a Basketball player, came second, while Rehansh, another Badminton player, was third.
Rajeev Sharma, chief guest and president of Tennikoit Federation of India and Ashok Singh, former Chief Manager of J&K Bank, were present, with Aman Sharma, High-Performance Director, highlighting various career options in sports. Dr. Vikram Handa, an academician, stressed the need for skilled sports professionals in India. The event was conducted by Prateek Kumar, SAI Volleyball Coach and concluded with a vote of thanks by Sachin Dogra, SAI Basketball Coach.
Prominent attendees included SAI coaches Touseef Ahmad, Vikram Saini, Sonu Kumar, Preety and Wakeel Singh.
