JAMMU, Aug 24: Padam Dev Singh Badminton Club, Sainik Colony, held a tournament in tribute to Late Piara Singh Choudhary, former MLA. The event began on August 23 at MA Stadium’s Indoor Complex but was moved to Police Lines Badminton Hall due to flooding.
MLA Vikram Randhawa of Bahu Constituency was the chief guest at the finals who presented prizes. In Women’s singles, Sushani Sharma defeated Diamond Rajput by 2-0. Udhyam Sharma won the Men’s Singles title, beating Navdeep Singh by 2-1. In Men’s Doubles 90+, Vikas Verma and Balwinder Singh Saini won by 2-0, while Romesh Sharma and Narinder Khajuria claimed the Men’s Doubles 120+ title.
A cash prize of Rs 20,000 was distributed among winners. Prominent guests included Dr. Sandeep Gupta and P.D. Singh.
