Shri Ram Universal School hosts CBSE Workshop on Gender Sensitivity

JAMMU, Aug 7: The Shri Ram Universal School, Jammu, took a commendable step towards inclusive education by organizing a CBSE Capacity Building Workshop on “Gender Sensitivity in Schools.” The workshop aimed to empower educators with the knowledge and tools needed to promote gender equity in classrooms.
Around 55 teachers from various institutions actively participated in the workshop, which focused on fostering respect and equal rights for all genders — male, female and transgender.
The sessions were led by experienced educators, Dr. Renu Gupta, former Principal of Army Public School and Lokesh Kumar, Principal of Cambridge International School, Chadwal. They stressed the role of educators in shaping inclusive mindsets and building safe, respectful, and empowering learning environments for every student.
Principal Sonika Mahajan and Headmistress Shivani Vaid welcomed the resource persons, acknowledging their dedication to educational reform. Director Rajni Gupta felicitated the speakers for their significant contributions to teacher training and inclusive pedagogy.
Participants gained practical strategies for developing gender-sensitive lesson plans and incorporating gender equity into daily teaching practices. The workshop also underscored the importance of addressing unconscious biases in education.
