KATHUA, Aug 4: Vidya Bharti Jammu Kashmir (Bhartiya Shiksha Samiti) organized its 36th State-Level Sports Meet (Part-1) at Sant Bal Yogeshwar Bhartiya Vidya Mandir Sr. Sec. School, Dadwara, Billawar. A total of 292 players from 14 schools across Kishtwar, Ramban, Udhampur, Reasi, Katra, Kathua, Billawar, Hiranagar and Jammu participated in team games including Chess, Badminton, Volleyball, Kabaddi and Kho-Kho.
The program was inaugurated by Malkhan Singh, Regional Sports Coordinator and culminated with a prize distribution ceremony graced by Satish Sharma, MLA Billawar, as chief guest, along with Parshotam Dadechi, President Vidya Bharti J&K and Dr. Naresh Kumar Sharma, General Secretary. Dignitaries present included Charan Dass Gupta, Sudesh Spolia, Savita Sharma and Anita Raina.
In Kabaddi, SBY BVM Dadwara and BVM Ambphalla emerged victorious in U11 and U14 Boys, respectively, while Dadwara also won U17. BVM Mandli and BVM Dadwara won Volleyball U14 and U17 Boys. Kho-Kho U14 Boys was won by BVM Ramban, while BVM Kishtwar led in Kho-Kho U14 Girls. In chess, top winners included BVM Palmar (U14 Boys), BVM Ramban (U17 Boys) and BVM Kishtwar (U17 Girls). BVM Kishtwar also won Badminton U14 Singles and Doubles, while BVM Hiranagar claimed Badminton U14 Girls and U17 Singles. SBY BVM Dadwara took the U17 Doubles title. Speakers praised Vidya Bharti’s role in nurturing youth through moral values and sports.
