JAMMU, July 31: To promote awareness about drug abuse and its societal impact, Govt. SPMR College of Commerce, Jammu, in collaboration with the Dean Student Welfare, Cluster University of Jammu, organized an Inter-College Skit Competition on the theme “Nasha Mukt Bharat for Viksit Bharat.”
The event began with the traditional lighting of the lamp and witnessed enthusiastic participation from various constituent and affiliated colleges. Students delivered compelling performances focusing on the psychological, social, and economic consequences of substance abuse, emphasizing the importance of community action and rehabilitation.
Prof. (Dr.) Rajinder Singh, Principal of the host college, lauded the initiative, calling youth the “torchbearers of Viksit Bharat.” The event was graced by Prof. D.S. Manhas, Dean Student Welfare. Performances were judged by Shashi Bhushan and Ravinder Sharma, noted theatre personalities.
Govt. College of Education, Jammu secured first place, followed by Govt. MAM College Jammu and PSPS GCW Gandhinagar, Jammu. Winners were felicitated with certificates.
The event was coordinated by Prof. Monika Mahajan along with committee members including Dr. Sunal Sharma, Prof. Sanjeev Verma and others. Dr. Fayaz compered the programme, which concluded with a formal vote of thanks by Prof. Shaji Khan.
