JAMMU, July 31: GGM Science College Jammu, in collaboration with the Office of Dean Student Welfare and Directorate of Outreach and Extension Activities, Cluster University of Jammu, successfully organized an inter-college debate competition on the theme “Yuva Shakti is the Driving Force for Viksit Bharat Journey.” The event aimed to highlight the role of youth in India’s development.
Held under the patronage of Principal Prof. (Dr.) Romesh Kumar Gupta and supervision of Dr. Revika Arora, the competition saw participation from 14 students across constituent colleges and schools of the university. Participants passionately shared views on youth-led innovation, leadership and national development.
The jury comprised Dr. Neena Sharma, Dr. Madhvi Bhardwaj and Dr. Jasmeet Kour. Mohd Ishfaq and Tanisha Sharma (School of Sciences) won first place, followed by Rahul Kumar and Merrylene Kour (GGM Science College) and Mahi Gupta and Mahi Khajuria (GCW Gandhinagar).
Prof. D.S. Manhas and Prof. Shafia Shameem appreciated the students’ insightful discourse. The event was coordinated by the Viksit Bharat Committee, with active support from NSS volunteers and faculty, who were lauded for the successful execution of the program.
