National Softball Umpiring Clinic concludes

SRINAGAR, July 31: The National Softball Umpiring Clinic 2025-26 concluded at Bakshi Stadium, here today, with remarkable participation from across India. Jointly organized by the J&K Sports Council, Softball Association of India and J&K Softball Association, the clinic aimed to enhance the skills and technical knowledge of softball umpires nationwide.
A total of 150 umpires from various States and Union Territories took part in the clinic. The closing ceremony was presided over by Javed Ur Rehman, Divisional Sports Officer Central, as chief guest. Dr. Pravin Anaokar and Nusrat Gazala (Divisional Sports Officer-Kashmir), along with officials L.R. Maurya, Mistry, Shakir Ahmad and Shivraj Singh also graced the event.
Rehman emphasized the J&K Sports Council’s commitment to promoting softball even in rural areas. Dr. Anaokar highlighted J&K’s growing role as a hub for this Olympic sport. Waseem Raja Khan, Joint Secretary of Softball Association of India, delivered the vote of thanks. The clinic concluded with Rehman officially declaring the event closed.
