JAMMU, July 9: MLA Marh, Surinder Kumar in the presence of MLA Arvind Gupta inaugurated Craft and Chess Room at International Delhi Public School (IDPS), Gho Manhasan, here today.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by the school management, teachers and students.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Marh said that Craft and Chess Room will provide students with opportunities to explore their creative potential, develop problem-solving skills and enhance their cognitive abilities.
He emphasized the importance of co-curricular activities in a student’s life, highlighting that they play a vital role in shaping young minds.
“Participating in activities like sports, arts and music helps students to build confidence, develop teamwork skills and explore their passions,” Surinder Kumar maintained.
A handout stated that Kumar has supported education for underprivileged children, facilitating scholarship form-filling for approximately 100 needy students in Marh Assembly constituency.
He also launched the ‘Mission Yuva’ app to empower youth with resources and opportunities in startups, skill development and self-reliance.
MLA Arvind Gupta highlighted the significance of co-curricular activities and encouraged the students to explore their potential beyond academics.
