Jammu, July 9: The Refresher/Orientation Course for officials from the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS), J&K, concluded today at Sports Training Centre, Nagrota, with Deputy Director Youth Services and Sports Central, Jitender Mishra, distributing certificates to the participants.
The 12-day course saw the participation of 104 Physical Education Teachers (PETs) and Masters (PEMs) from various districts of the Union Territory. The training covered key sports disciplines including Weightlifting, Handball, Judo and Yoga, aimed at upgrading the skills and pedagogical knowledge of the officials.
A team of 13 expert Resource Persons conducted the sessions, providing practical insights and modern techniques to enhance coaching effectiveness at the grassroots level. Jitender Mishra emphasized the importance of sharing the knowledge gained during the course and encouraged the trainees to become Master Trainers for future programs. He credited Director General YSS, Anuradha Gupta, for initiating such capacity-building efforts.
Earlier, Accounts Officer Sunil Kotwal highlighted the significance of continuous learning in sports education. Participants expressed gratitude and recommended making such training programs a regular feature. Prominent attendees included DYSSO Sukhdev Raj Sharma, CVO and course Incharge Altaf Hussain, and Rajesh Dhar Lecturer P.E.
