Taekwondo training centre inaugurated at Poonch

POONCH, July 2: In a major step towards promoting martial arts and youth engagement, J&K Sports Council, in collaboration with the J&K Taekwondo Association, inaugurated a Taekwondo Training Centre at Poonch Sports Stadium.
The newly launched centre is aimed at identifying and nurturing young talent in Taekwondo, an Olympic sport gaining momentum in the region. The centre will be led by experienced and certified coaches Ashiq Hussain and Khalida Jabeen, a national medalist.
Mohd Syed (ACR Poonch) attended the ceremony as chief guest, with Ch. Mohd Qasim (DYSSO Poonch) as special guest. guests of honour included Mushtaq Ahmed (Stadium Manager), Dr. Khalil Ahmed (NSS Officer, SKC GDC Poonch), Vijay Kumar (Youth Services & Sports), Imran Hussain Shah (Kidmat Foundation) and Parvez Malik Afreedi (Rahul David Cricket Academy).
Also in attendance were key dignitaries and sports officials: Zakir Hussain Shah, Owaiz U Din, Mohd Umar, Narinder Singh, Musrat Chowdhary, Shabir Malik, Sajad Rather, Ch. Muzaffer, Ajaz Malik, Mohd Hinan, Mohd Iqbal, Manzoor Ahmed and Sarwat Ch.
Shakeel Ahmed, founder of Taekwondo in Poonch, thanked the J&K Sports Council and especially Secretary Nuzhat Gul for their unwavering support.
