SRINAGAR, June 14: DPS Srinagar’s under-14 boys’ football team has emerged champions of the Inter-School Football Tournament, outclassing 13 other participating schools to lift the coveted title.
Displaying exceptional skill, teamwork, and discipline, the team maintained a flawless record throughout the tournament – scoring 30 goals and conceding none.
In the opening round, DPS Srinagar registered a massive 15-0 win over Candid Higher Secondary School, Nowgam.
They carried forward their momentum into the quarter-finals, defeating Model High School, Jawahar Nagar, with a commanding 9-0 scoreline.
The semi-final clash against Tyndale Biscoe School proved to be a tighter contest.
After a goalless first half despite dominating possession and creating several chances, DPS finally broke the deadlock in the second half, securing a 1-0 win.
In the final, the team delivered a clinical performance against Burn Hall School, sealing the championship with a comprehensive 4-0 victory.
The school has extended its gratitude to the parents for their continued support and encouragement, which played a key role in the team’s success.
