JAMMU, June 13: The 1st Tawi Sports Non-Medalist Badminton Tournament is currently underway at the Police Line Badminton Hall, Gulshan Ground, Jammu, drawing enthusiastic participation from across the region. Gulzar Singh Slathia, former IGP and noted sports promoter, was the chief guest.
He applauded the organizers for promoting sports to steer youth away from drugs and excessive mobile use, emphasizing its physical and mental benefits, especially for senior citizens.
The tournament is being officiated by Saravanan, Sukhdev Singh, Divam Gupta, Preeti Gupta, Anil Gurkha and Manchit Choudhary (Organising Secretary).
Prominent attendees included Balbir Singh Jamwal (General Secretary, Badminton Association of J&K), Vivek Mehta, Basanti Bhat (General Secretary, Kings Badminton Club) and Kirti Sharma. Over 30 matches were played today.
