India wins silver at CAVA Nations Volleyball League

JAMMU, June 5: Saqlain Tariq from district Poonch, the only player from Jammu and Kashmir in the Indian volleyball team, played a key role as India secured silver medal at CAVA Nations Volleyball League held in Uzbekistan.
In the league stage, India defeated Uzbekistan (3-0), Turkmenistan (3-0), Pakistan (3-0) and Kazakhstan (3-2), but lost to Iran twice—once in the league (1-3) and again in the final (0-3), settling for second place.
Mohd Tariq, Chairman of Shaheed Manjit Club, Poonch, congratulated the Indian team for its outstanding performance in a highly competitive event.
