POONCH, June 4: The Inter-Zone District Level Sports Competitions for under-14 girls began today in Poonch with great enthusiasm. The tournament was inaugurated by Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Mohd Sayeed in the presence of young athletes and officials. Organised under the supervision of District Youth Services and Sports Officer (DYSSO) Poonch, Mohd Qasim, the event saw participation from nearly 300 girls across various zones.
The opening day featured spirited contests, with Surankote Zone defeating Mandi Zone in Kho-Kho and also overpowering Nangali Zone in Kabaddi. Mankote Zone outplayed Harni Zone in Volleyball with a straight-set victory, while Sathra Zone won a close chess match against Poonch Zone. In Badminton, Poonch Zone emerged victorious over Buffliaz Zone.
