Inter-School Zone competition underway

POONCH, May 24: The Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) Zone Poonch is hosting the Inter-School Zone level competition in Volleyball, Kho Kho, Kabaddi, Chess and Badminton for Under-14 boys and girls at Sports Stadium Poonch. The event was supervised by DYSSO Poonch Mohd Qasim and ZPEO Sarla Bakshi. Pawan Kumar is the overall in-charge.
On the second day, around 420 girls from various schools participated enthusiastically, showcasing growing talent in the district. Technical supervision is provided by experts in each sport.
The competitions witnessed exciting results across all disciplines. In Kabaddi, MS Deri Sahib secured a victory over MS Sheesh Mehal. The Kho-Kho match saw DNRM Girls High School Degwar (M) emerge triumphant against Rani Sarmori GMS Poonch after a closely fought contest. In Chess, the SAI School of Education outplayed Nanak Academy. Volleyball matches were equally competitive, with Nanak Academy defeating High School Karmara through excellent coordination and agility. Meanwhile, in Badminton, Jamia Ul Uloom claimed victory over Nanak Academy, displaying superior technique and stamina. Rajinder Singh PET and other officials attended, supporting the event’s smooth conduct.
