JAMMU, May 24: The Department of Youth Services and Sports, Jammu, wrapped up the Inter-Zone District Level Competitions in Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Volleyball and Cricket for Under-14 and Under-17 boys and girls. The event witnessed spirited participation from Zone Akhnoor, Zone Jourian, Zone Chowki Choura and Zone Khour, promoting sportsmanship and fitness among youth.
The Kabaddi and Volleyball girls’ competitions, held at the Indoor Stadium Akhnoor, were key highlights. In Kabaddi (Girls U-14 & U-17), Zone Akhnoor emerged as champions, demonstrating excellent skill and teamwork. In Volleyball, Zone Chowki Choura won the U-17 girls category, while Zone Jourian claimed the U-14 girls title.
Zonal Physical Education Officers, Nirmal Kumari (Chowki Choura) and Ashok Kumar (Akhnoor), motivated the youth to remain disciplined and avoid harmful habits, emphasizing the importance of regular sports participation. The department thanked Jugal Kishore, Manager of Indoor Stadium Akhnoor, for his invaluable support.
