KATHUA, May 21: The NSS Unit of Government Degree College (GDC) Ramkote observed Anti-Terrorism Day by organizing a poster-making competition on the theme “Say No to Terrorism.” The event, aimed at raising awareness about the devastating impact of terrorism, was conducted under the guidance of College Principal Dr. Rakesh Kumar Koul.
The competition was part of the observance of National Anti-Terrorism Day, which is marked every year on May 21 to honour former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, who was assassinated by a suicide bomber in 1991. The day serves as a reminder to reject terrorism and promote peace and unity.
A total of 15 students from BA Semester-2 participated in the competition, showcasing their creativity through posters that highlighted the need for solidarity against terrorism. The participants included Nitakshi Devi, Kriti Devi, Sonali Sharma, Tania Sharma and others.
The event concluded with the students taking an Anti-Terrorism Pledge, committing to fight against terrorism and violence. The top three positions in the competition were secured by Kajal Devi, Nenshe, and Neha Devi.
