JAMMU, May 14: Shiksha Niketan paid solemn tribute to its founder, Late Dev Dutt Mengi, on his 42nd death anniversary, here today. Born on May 13, 1911, he was a renowned educationist, former District Education Officer and the first Principal of K.V. Gandhi Nagar (1967-69). He laid the foundation of Shiksha Niketan High School, Gandhi Nagar, which has grown into a group of reputed institutions.
The death anniversary observance at Shiksha Niketan Senior Secondary School, Jeevan Nagar, witnessed the presence of Principal Rameshwar Mengi, Rakshan Mengi (Director, RMPS), Risheek Mengi (Director, Shiksha Niketan Gandhi Nagar & Pushp Vatika), incharges, faculty and staff.
Floral tributes and garlanding of the founder’s statue were offered. Principal Rameshwar Mengi spoke about the founder’s educational legacy and urged everyone to follow his ideals. Late Dev Dutt Mengi’s life continues to inspire generations, and his contributions to education are remembered with deep reverence.
