BHADARWAH, June 8: Outplaying their respective rivals convincingly in their opening matches, Youth Red Cricket Club Bhadarwah and Neil Top Cricket Club Doda advanced into the next round of the ongoing 2nd Edition of Champions Trophy T20 Cricket Tournament, being organized by Rashtriya Rifles located at Bhadarwah, under the aegis of the Counter Insurgency Force (Delta) and Youth Combined Cricket Club Bhadarwah at Degree College Ground, here.
Earlier, in the first match, Youth Red Bhadarwah defeated Kings XI Bhadarwah in an easy contest of low scoring match. Batting first, Kings XI scored a modest total of 102 runs in the allotted overs. Jugnu was the top scorer with unbeaten 42 runs. For Youth Red, Arij Malik was the pick of the bowlers, who claimed 3 important wickets.
In reply, Youth Red Bhadarwah reached the target easily in 13.5 overs. Arij top scored with 30 runs, while Sunny and Sakib Khan contributed 22 and 20 runs to the total respectively. Arij Malik of Youth Red Bhadarwah was adjudged Cedar Wood Oil man of the match for his superb all-round display.
In another match, Neil Top Cricket Club Doda drubbed Royal Cricket Club Doda by 27 runs in an contest. Batting first, Neil Top scored 109 runs in the stipulated 18 overs, losing 8 wickets in the process. Zorawar top scored with 32 runs while Sunil contributed 30 runs to the total. For Royal CC, Abid scalped 3 wickets, while Sachin claimed two.
In reply, Royal CC bundled out for a paltry total of 82 runs in 15.4 overs, thus lost the match by 27 runs. Shoaib scored 29 runs, while Zeeshan contributed 19 runs to the total. Zorawar and Sunil bagged 2 wickets each for Neil Top Cricket Club. Zorawar was declared man of the match for his all-round performance.
The matches were officiated by Mehran Ganai and Babar Sheikh as umpires, while Aquib was the scorer.
