Kupwara, Feb 24: A Gymnastic championship was held today in Kupwara, featuring the remarkable talent of local athletes. This event marked the 4th district championship in the series of gymnastics tournaments across the valley.
The Handwara DDC graced the occasion as the chief guest, encouraging the participants and highlighting the role of sports in shaping youth. Winners were awarded prizes in recognition of their dedication and performance.
Organized by the J&K Gymnastic Association in collaboration with the J&K Sports Council, the event was a platform to showcase the region’s gymnastic talent. Kiran Wattal, President of the J&K Gymnastic Association, emphasized the importance of identifying and nurturing rural talent in both the valley and Jammu region. He announced plans for more district tournaments and a special coaching camp in Srinagar to help athletes excel at national and international levels.
Wattal also expressed gratitude to the LG administration and praised Nuzhat Gul, Secretary of the Sports Council, for their ongoing support in promoting sports in Jammu and Kashmir.
