J&K Women U-23 Team gets warm send off

JAMMU, Feb 22: The players and members of support staff of U-23 Women team representing J&K in U-23 Women OD Tournament being held at Trivandrum conducted by Kerala Cricket Association under the aegis of Board of Control for Cricket in India were given a warm send off at Hostel Ground, JKCA Complex Jammu.
The team was introduced to Brig. Anil Gupta, Member Administration.
Speaking to the players, Brig. Gupta impressed upon the need of a positive mindset of players to face any team in the tournament and also to play full 50 overs.
J&K team is placed in Elite Group-B and other teams in the group are Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Mizoram, Goa and Karnataka.
The tournament is starting from March 5, 2025 and J&K will play Jharkhand in the opening match.
The team will carry out pre-match practice at Trivandrum from February 24 to March 2 till the other teams join for the tournament.
Foziya Jan, a player with humble background who could not afford a personal kit was presented a full kit along with bat and cricket boots by the Association.
The team is led by Rudrakshi Chib and includes Ananya Sharma, Bawandeep Kaur, Chitra Singh, Madhu Devi, Lalita, Sehrish Tariq, Tahseena Nisar, Mariya Noorain, Arveen Riyaz, Foziya Jan, Sheena Saraf, Ronaq Jahan, Aditi Aryan and Maroof Anjum.
Dr. Roopali Slathia is Head Coach of the team.
Other members of the support staff include Jyoti Bala (Asst. Coach), Irshaad Hassan (Manager), Anuradha Sharma (Co-Manager), Satika Sharma (Trainer), Bisma Gulzar (Physiotherapist) and Mujtaba Wani (Video Analyst).
