GDC Bishnah organizes sports event

JAMMU, Feb 7: Government Degree College (GDC) Bishnah organized a vibrant sports event, here today in collaboration with Nehru Yuva Kendra under the Fit India Movement. The event, spearheaded by the college’s Anti-Drug Club, aimed to promote sportsmanship, fitness, and a drug-free environment among youth.
A wide array of activities, including Volleyball (Boys), Kho-Kho (girls), 100-meter sprints, Badminton (for both boys and girls), and shot put, took center stage. Students from GDC Bishnah and Government Higher Secondary School Bishnah participated enthusiastically, creating a lively and competitive atmosphere.
The winners included Team GDC Bishnah, which triumphed in the volleyball competition, and Aadil Khokher, Himanshu Sharma, and Shivanshu Saini, who clinched the top three spots in the 100-meter sprint for boys. In the girls’ events, Sonia Thakyal, Neelakshi and Roshan Bibi secured top positions in the 100-meter sprint, while Sonia, Neelakshi and Arti Lakhotra excelled in shot put.
A pledge to stay drug-free was led by Dr. Ratika Sharma and Dr. Ashma Gupta, reinforcing the event’s message of healthy, active living. The program was supported by Principal Dr. Shallu Samyal and the dedicated sports committee, with special thanks to Dr. Ranjeeta Bali and Rakshant Sharma for their contributions.
