J&K runners excel at 16th AU Int’l Jaipur Marathon

JAMMU, Feb 2: Runners from Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory (JKUT) achieved remarkable success at the 16th edition of the AU International Jaipur Marathon. The marathon, which saw over 85,000 participants from India and abroad, included a contingent of 20 runners from JK UT, showcasing the region’s growing fitness culture.
The JKUT runners participated in various categories and their outstanding performances highlighted the rising athletic spirit in the region. Vijay Sharma finished the Full Marathon (42.2 km) in the 45+ age category with a time of 3 hours 20 minutes, securing the Silver Medal. Sham Suri completed the Half Marathon (21.1 km) in the 55+ age category with a time of 1 hour 48 minutes, winning the Gold Medal. SSP Surinder Choudhary earned the Silver Medal in the Half Marathon with a time of 01 hour 51 minutes.
Other runners from JK UT who participated and completed their races include Ravinder Sharma (Full Marathon in 3 hours 59 minutes), Dheeraj Gupta (Full Marathon in 4 hours 19 minutes), Ajay Sawhney (Full Marathon in 5 hours 7 minutes), Satpal Gorka (Full Marathon in 4 hours 16 minutes), Praveen Raina (Full Marathon in 5 hours 15 minutes), Akash Dhar (Half Marathon in 3 hours 03 minutes), Varun Chowdhary (Half Marathon in 2 hours 16 minutes), Anil Katoch (Half Marathon in 2 hours 11 minutes), Anju Chib (Half Marathon in 2 hours 48 minutes), Rashi Razdan (Half Marathon), Antarjami (Half Marathon in 2 hours 15 minutes), Nazeer Dar (10 km), Priyanka Raina (10 km), and Satish Sharma (10 km).
