JAMMU, Jan 18: The 9th J&K-UT Deadlift Powerlifting Championship 2025 which was organized by the Powerlifting Association of J&K under the banner of the Indian Powerlifting Federation (IPF) culminated at the Indoor Stadium Bhagwati Nagar, here today. The championship, witnessed impressive performances across various weight categories.
In the men’s senior category, the gold medal winners included Ajay Kumar in the 32kg category, Mantu Gupta in the 66kg category, Aditya Singh in the 83kg category, Roshan in the 93kg category, and Kartik Sharma in the 105kg category. In the women’s category, Naira Sharma, Priya Gupta, Seerat Kapoor, Kreeti Kumari, Sabha Anjum, and Shivani all clinched gold medals for their outstanding performances.
The closing ceremony was graced by Vivek Shekhar, SP City North, as the chief guest and Deepak Pathania, SHO Nowabad, as the guest of honour. Both dignitaries commended the athletes for their dedication and hard work in the sport of powerlifting.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Rakesh Kumar, General Secretary of the Powerlifting Association of J&K, who extended gratitude to the participants, officials, and supporters for making the championship a resounding success.
