Ladakh’s Nusrath shines at 5th Junior World Pencak Silat C’ship

KARGIL, Dec 23: Ladakh has achieved another significant milestone in combat sports as Nusrath Fatima, daughter of Mohd Baqir from Sankoo, Kargil, represented India at the prestigious 5th Junior World Pencak Silat Championship held in Abu Dhabi from December 18 to 22. Competing in the 58 kg weight category (Junior), Nusrath’s participation at this global event highlights the growing prominence of Ladakh in the international combat sports arena.
Syed Mehraj Uddin Shah, General Secretary of the District Kargil Olympic Association, expressed his pride in Nusrath’s achievement, calling it a proud moment for Ladakh. “This accomplishment follows the remarkable success of Rinchen Youdol in Taekwondo. Nusrath’s selection and participation at the World Championship reflects the tremendous talent and dedication of Ladakh’s youth,” he said. He also congratulated Nusrath, her parents, and the Pencak Silat Association of Ladakh for this significant achievement.
