UT level Inter-Division Youth Festival concludes; 30 J&K Artists selected for Nationals

JAMMU, Dec 13: A total of 30 students/artists from Jammu and Kashmir have been selected to represent the Union Territory at the 28th National Youth Festival scheduled to be held in New Delhi on January 11 & 12, 2025. These talented individuals were chosen after their impressive performances at the UT-level Inter-Division 28th National Youth Festival held in Jammu. The selected participants include 10 in Folk Song, 10 in Folk Dance, and 2 each in Painting, Poetry, Thematic, Story Writing and Declamation.
During the concluding ceremony, Sarmad Hafeez, Secretary to Government, Youth Services and Sports Department, Jammu and Kashmir, lauded the youth for their immense talent and emphasized the importance of nurturing their skills at the grassroots level. He highlighted the need to provide value-based education to instill moral values and ethical principles, enabling youth to reach their full potential.
Hafeez congratulated the selected artists and described their participation in the upcoming National Youth Festival as a “dream come true,” especially with the Prime Minister Narendra Modi in attendance. He further emphasized that such events empower youth, helping them become leaders and promoting national integration.
The event were attended by Rajinder Singh Tara, Director General Youth Services and Sports, Jitendra Mishra, Deputy Director Youth Services and Sports Central, Ved Prakash, Joint Director Youth Services and Sports Jammu, Sunil Kumar Sharma, Accounts Officer Directorate of Youth Services and Sports J&K and Mohd Yousuf Dar.
