SRINAGAR, Dec 8: Foreshore Athletes held a special ceremony to honour its top performers in athletic and adventure sports. Arif Ahmed was named “Best Athlete of the Year” for completing the Srinagar-Gurez cycling event in 11:26 hours and excelling in marathons, snow sky championships and trekking challenges.
Soleh Mustakeem was felicitated as the first trekker to complete the KGL trek challenge in 3 days. Veteran cyclist G Nabi was recognized for his solo cycling feats, including Srinagar-Betab Valley, Srinagar-Sonamarg and Srinagar-Narang. Asif Mehtaab and Hafeez Shahjee were declared as the most consistent athletes of the year.
Dr. Anwar Hussain, President of Foreshore Athletes, praised the athletes and highlighted upcoming events, while Bashir Ahmed, Secretary of the J&K Skyrunning Association, spoke about the group’s 15th-anniversary celebrations.
