LEH, Nov 30: The Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC), Leh, has flagged off two para-athletes, Diskit Angmo and Iftikar Hussain, for specialized Paralympic training in Hyderabad. Accompanying them are Padma Chuskit, Warden, and Mukhtar Ali, Liaison Officer, as part of the council’s commitment to fostering talent in adaptive sports.
The training, organized under the guidance of the Aditya Mehta Foundation, will focus on para-cycling to prepare the athletes for the upcoming Para Cycling Nationals in Hyderabad.
Both athletes were identified during a rigorous screening and counselling process conducted at special schools for persons with disabilities, a vital step in the 2028 Paralympic Mission. This mission, a collaboration between LAHDC and the Aditya Mehta Foundation, aims to create opportunities for athletes with disabilities to compete at international levels.
Expressing pride in their achievements, the LAHDC extended heartfelt wishes to Diskit and Iftikar as they begin their journey, symbolizing hope and determination for Ladakh and the nation.
