POONCH, Apr 20: Police XI got better of Media XI by 29 runs in a high scoring friendly T20 cricket match at Government Degree College ground, here today.
Earlier, bating first, Police XI scored a mammoth total of 194 runs in the stipulated 20 overs for the loss of 6 wickets. Ashiq Hussain was the top scorer with 15-ball 40 runs, while Arief contributed 15-ball 20 runs. For Media XI, Gurvinder Singh scalped 4 wickets, while Salil Raina bagged 3 and Shaizad Bhat claimed one wicket.
In reply, Media XI scored 165 runs in the allotted overs, thus lost the match by 29 runs. Gurvinder Singh scored 49 runs off 29 balls, while JB Singh and Salil Raina contributed 30-ball 48 and 20-ball 30 runs respectively. For Police XI, Ashiq Hussain and Mohd Arief bagged 3 wickets each.
SSP Poonch Shamsheer Hussain was the chief guest on the occasion, who distributed prizes among the teams on the occasion.
