JAMMU, Mar 9: Promising wicketkeeper-batsman, Avinash Singh Jamwal played a gem of an innings of unbeaten 95 runs to help Friends Cricket Club (FCC) Bhalwal outplay Trikuta Cricket Club (TCC) in a close contest by 5 wickets in the ongoing 1st Drug Free Youth T20 Cricket Tournament being played at Country Cricket Academy ground at Gharota, here.
Chasing a modest target of 128 runs, FCC Bhalwal sailed on a magnificent innings of 68-ball 95 runs, studded with 10 boundaries and one six to reach the target in 19.3 overs by losing 5 wickets, thus won the match by 5 wickets. Kapil also contributed 14 runs to the total. For Trikuta Club, Kavi and Arun claimed one wicket each.
Earlier, batting first, Trikuta Cricket Club scored 128 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Rajkumar top scored with 41 runs, while Arun, Manjeet Singh and Surjeet Singh contributed 25, 20 and 11 runs to the total respectively. For FCC Bhalwal, Ajay took 2 wickets, Sangram and Sahil claimed one wicket each. Avinash Singh Jamwal was adjudged man of the match for single-handedly helping FCC Bhalwal to shatter Trikuta Club.
