GULMARG, Jan 18: Indian Institute of Skiing and Mountaineering (IISM) organised Graduation Ceremony of its 2nd skiing course here.
Tufail Mattoo, Managing Director, Cable Car Corporation gave away prizes and badges of success to 70 students at IISM.
JS Dhillon, Principal of the Institute said Cable Car Corporation helps the Institute to provide advanced training to the students of IISM.
He said that the Institute was defunct for almost two decades and there was no taker for the Institute courses. However due to the renewed support of the Ministry of Tourism both from Centre and State, this Institute is now most popular in South East Asia.
Ministry is actively supporting the Institute and contemplating to upgrade its training infrastructure such as Chairlift, Ski lift and also procure more equipment for diversified adventure activities, he added.
Tufail Mattoo said the Cable Car Corporation will always help the Institute to achieve its high objectives of training. Institute is helping the Government to make Gulmarg as the best adventure destination of the State, he added.
In this batch, students from Lawrence School, Sanawar also participated.
