KV Masters defeats ACB XI by 2 wkts

JAMMU, Feb 26: KV Masters defeated ACB XI in a thriller match, which was organized under the guidance of  Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 2 (KV2) Principal Bhushan Kumar at KV2 School Ground, here today.
ACB XI led Imran Khan won the toss and opted to bat first. The openers could not provide a good start against the seam bowling of Manjeet (2 wickets) and Ashok kumar (1 wicket). In the middle overs, good batting by Sourav (77 runs) and Zahoor Allahi (30 runs) increased the scoring with fearless hitting. The introduction of spin with Sikander Oberoi (1 wicket) and Sachin Kumar (2 wickets) put the break on run rate.
Other major contributions with the bat for ACB were Rocky Jamwal (22 runs) Manider (14 runs) and Manjeet Singh (11 runs). ACB XI scored 181 by losing 7 wickets in stipulated 20 overs.  Sachin Sharma (1 wicket) was the other wicket taker for KV Masters.
In reply, KV Masters led by Samendar Rathore started well with Sachin Kumar (17 runs) and Samendar Rathore (41 runs) giving a good opening stand but two quick wickets by Manider (1 wicket) and Imran Khan (3 wickets) put the batting side under pressure. Quick fire runs in the middle overs by Manjeet (21 runs) and Pawan Parihar (20 runs) got the equation to 62 runs required from the last 7 overs.
A batting collapse made the match KV2 in favour of ACB XI but the finishing touch by Naresh Kumar (22 not out runs in 9 balls) won the match for KV Masters by 2 wickets.
Sanjeev Sharma (1 wicket) and Manjeet Singh (2 wickets) were the other wicket takers for ACB XI. Manjeet was declared player of the match for his all-round performance.
