KT Lion lifts Dogra C’ship title

JAMMU, Nov 4: KT Lion defeated Sunday Strikers by 17 runs and lifted the title trophy of the 1st Dogra Cricket Championship, played at MA Stadium, here today.
Batting first, KT Lion made 90 runs by losing 5 wickets in the allotted 12 overs. Kewal was the top scorer with 29 runs, while Utam made 19 runs, Kamal made 8 runs and Anil chipped in 5 runs. For Sunday Strikers, Ramit scalped 3 wickets, while Saeem and Sagar took one wicket apiece.
In reply, Sunday Strikers failed to chase the target and bundled out at 73 runs by losing 9 wickets in the stipulated overs. Sahil and Waseem made 14 runs each, while Shehzad made 7 runs and Ranit scored 5 runs. For KT Lion, Rishab, Ronie and Kewal scalped 2 wickets each, while Anil took one wicket.
DDC Member Geetu Aulakh was the chief guest and she lauded both the teams for showing great competitiveness. She encouraged both the teams to instill a spirit of positive sportsmanship, so that a healthy society can be founded.
The tournament was organised by the Ridhima Sports Club India.
