JAMMU, July 17: Param Football Club and Udhampur City FC organised a Football tournament for women-‘Aadya-2022’ at Isle of Ball Football Turf, here today.
The tournament was inaugurated by Director Sports (retired), Ashok Kumar, wherein a total of five teams participated from Jammu, Kathua and Udhampur, whereas Iqbal Singh (Coach), Ajay Vaid and Satpal Singh (Coach) were among the guests of honour.
Param FC won the tournament, while Shakti FC stood runner up. Deputy Mayor Jammu, Advocate Purnima Sharma was the chief guest of the closing ceremony who awarded the winning and runner up teams. She also presented ‘Award of Appreciation’ to Nitika Thapa, Sakshi Bandral, Iqbal Singh and Sanjeev Jasrotia for their effort towards coaching women footballers in Jammu and other parts of the country.
A team of veteran national players were also honoured by the Deputy Mayor. Rakesh Khanna, president of Pt. Prem Nath Dogra Football Club was the co-sponsor of the tournament, whereas Satnam Singh and Dil Bahadur Gurung were organising secretaries and Aman Sudan and Nitika Thapa were the officials for the matches.
