Olympic gold medallists from Haryana to get top posts

Chandigarh, Aug 6:
A decision to appoint gold medal winning Olympians, hailing from Haryana, to Group ‘A’ post in the departments of Home, Sports and Youth Affairs, School Education and Development and Panchayats, has been taken at a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda here today.
It was also decided that the silver and bronze medallists in Olympics, and gold medal winners in Asian and Commonwealth Games will be considered for appointment to Group ‘B’ post in these departments.
Participants of Olympics Games, silver and bronze medal winners of Asian and Commonwealth Games and medal winners of World Championships and Asian Championships organised by recognised Sports Associations, on the basis of level and importance of competition or tournament, will be considered for appointment to Group ‘C’ post in these departments, an official spokesman said.(PTI)
