JAMMU, Mar 10: The Sports Department of Government MAM PG College organized Chess competitions under the supervision of Chess Arbiter SP Sharma, here today.
A total of eight students participated in the event wherein Imtiaz A. Shah, Nipun Memalua and Vinkle Uday Singh clinched first, second and third positions respectively.
The Principal of the College, Prof Sunil Uppal exhorted the students to take part in sports activity for their overall personality development.
He reflected his ideas on the importance in games in enhancing the mental ability to cope the stress during the adverse conditions. Dr. Seema Jamwal was the convener of the event and she lauded the efforts of the organizing team members including the Physical Director Neenu and Assistant Physical Director, Neelam Chalotra.
She appreciated the students for the enthusiastic efforts and encouraged them to participate regularly in more sports activities.
Prof Vijeeta Anand, Prof Anupama and Dr Satinder were part of the committee.
