2nd Khelo India National Winter Games

SRINAGAR, Feb 28: On the third day of the ongoing 2nd Khelo India National Winter Games 2021, Karnataka girls emerged winner in both the long distance girls SnowShoe events at Gulmarg today.
Today, competition of Long Distance SnowShoe in senior and junior girls’ categories were held.
Karnataka girls bagged both the gold medals, J&K also clinched three medals while as Ladakh pocketed one medal.
The SnowShoe Senior and Junior girls’ long distance events were inaugurated by senior journalist Peerzada Ashique.
In senior girls, Dhanalakshmi of Karnataka bagged gold medal while as Muskaan Shabaan clinched silver medal for J&K. Zehra Akhter bagged bronze medal for Ladakh.
In junior girls, Latha AA of Karnataka bagged gold medal while as Rutba Saleem of J&K bagged silver. Mannat Mushtaq of J&K bagged bronze medal.
In SnowShoe events, around 24 athletes from eight different States and Union Territories are participating.
Later, officials from Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports Government of India alongwith officials of J&K Sports Council interacted with athletes and officials.
The competitions of SnowShoe will continue tomorrow also with scheduled Sprint events of Senior Men and Junior boys.
