UT level Open Taewondo C’ship concludes

JAMMU, Feb 21: Two days long J&K UT Open Taekwondo Championship-2021, organised by Taekwondo Association of J&K, concluded at J&K Sports Council Indoor Hall Bhagwati Nagar, here today.
Total 160 participants from all over districts of J&K UT including Srinagar, Doda, Rajouri and Jammu participated in the championship. The event was organized under the age category of PEE/WEE, Sub-Junior, Cadet, Junior and Senior. The event was presided over by Pardeep Sharma, senior BJP leader & Co-convener, BJP Sports, Art and Culture.
In PEE/WEE, Shourya Dev Singh won Gold medal, whereas Arav Bamotra clinched Silver and Nasrulla Abbas and Akshit Manhas shared Bronze medal.
In the weight category of 24-27 kg, Ritvik Kundal and Summerjeet Singh clinched top two medals, whereas in open-27, Eklavya Sodhi, Kulveer Singh and Uzair won top three medals respectively and in 14-18 kg, Adarsh Kumar won Gold and Harnam Sadotra secured Silver medal besides in weight category 21 to 24 kg, Mohd Asrar clinched Gold medal and Himanshu Gupta won Silver medal.
In sub-junior boys weight category 21to 23 kg, Rishav Dubey, Zaid Showkat and Viraaj Singh Parihar clinched Gold, Silver and Bronze medals respectively, whereas in 23-25 kg, Aditya Veer Parihar won Gold medal and in 25 to 27 kg, Rakshit Bains won Gold medal and Huzaifa Bin Masood clinched Silver besides in 27-29 kg, Ansh Tickoo won Gold medal, Dakshesh Singh secured Silver and Samaksh Bamotra clinched Bronze medal and in 32 to 35 kg, Yuvraaj Verma and Krishna Pandoh clinched top two medals while Atif Ahmed and Ikram Javed shared Bronze medal.
In sub junior girls 22 to24 kg, Divyani Singh clinched Gold, whereas in 26 to 29 kg, Gauri Arora and Aavya Singh Charak won Gold and Silver medals and in 32 to 35 kg, Ujwa Jaan and Arya Khanna secured top two medals besides in 35 to 38 kg, Mehalika Tahir won Gold medal and in 41 to 45 kg Rutba Nisar won Gold medal and Aliya Shah secured Silver medal.
In open 45 kg, Sanjana Tickoo won Gold medal, Mansi Gupta secured Silver and Zuba Iqbal and Rehmat shared Bronze medal, whereas in cadet boys under-33 kg, Bhanu Pratap Singh won Gold medal, Tanish secured Silver medal and Aniket Lahtra and Raghav Choudhary shared Bronze medal.
In cadet girls 29-33 kg, Palak Mehta won Gold medal, whereas in 41 to 44 kg, Antriksha Reki won Gold and Barkah Tanveer clinched Silver medal and junior division 55 to 59 kg, Gourav Kataria won Gold and Vilayat Ali bagged Silver medal besides in senior division 63-68 kg, Bilal Ahmed from Srinagar won Gold medal, Maqbool Ahmed secured Silver medal, whereas in 54 to 58 kg, Rahul from Jammu won Gold medal, Mushtaba from Sringar bagged Silver and Adnan and Mudassir Hussain from Srinagar shared Bronze medal.
The winners of the championship will represent J&K UT in forthcoming National Taekw-ondo championship.
