IGP inaugurates T20 Cricket Tourney

SRINAGAR, May 14: Inspector General of Police, Kashmir, Abdul Ghani Mir inaugurated a T-20 Cricket Tournament, organised by Budgam Police and Sheikh-ul-Aalam Sports Association Budgam in Budgam.
64 teams from Budgam District are participating in the tournament, in which 134 matches will be played.
The tournament was declared open by IGP Kashmir, Abdul Ghani Mir in an impressive and well attended function.
In his inaugural address, the IGP said that the J&K Police is providing a platform to the youth of the State to harness their capabilities in the field of sports and arts.
MLA Budgam, Aga Ruhallah also addressed on the occasion said that the tournament is being held successfully since 2002 by J&K police in collaboration with Sheikh-ul-Aalam trust.
Among others the inaugural function was attended by MLA Budgam, Aga Ruhallah, DIG CKR Srinagar Shri Afhad-ul- Mujtaba, SSP Budgam Shri Uttam Chand, Principal Degree College Budgam, DFO Budgam, and other District officers.
A large gathering of people witnessed the opening ceremony and the inaugural match that was played between District Police Budgam and RRC Budgam.
