Diamond Cricket Club advances to quarterfinal stage

JAMMU, May 13: Diamond Cricket Club registered victory over TCC Chatha by a huge margin of 112 runs and advanced to the quarterfinal round of the ongoing Baisakhi Premier League T-20 Cricket Tournament at Government Boys High School, Simble Camp.
Electing to bat first, after winning the toss, Diamond Cricket Club chipped in 166 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in stipulated 20 overs. Raja was the top scorer with 39 runs including three boundaries and two lofty sixes, while Divya Partap Singh also contributed 31 runs with the help of two boundaries and one six. Aman, Navdeep and Inder also made 29, 21 and 18 runs respectively.
For TCC, Chatha side, Ashi was the pick of the bowler with 4 wickets, while Tinku and Rishv scalped 2 and one wicket respectively.
In the second inning, TCC players failed to chase the pace of Diamond Club bowlers and bundled out at 54 runs for all out in 13.4 overs. Tinku made 10 runs.
For Diamond Cricket Club side, Gurdev Singh, Mahadeep Singh and Parmeet Singh took 2 wickets each, while Aman and Divya Partap Singh took one wicket apiece.
Raja of Diamond Cricket Club was declared as man of the match.
The match was officiated by Kulvir Singh and Harcharan Bablu as umpires, while Ginni maintained ther scorecard.
The tournament is being organised by Diamond Cricket Club under the overall supervision of Sports Secretary GS Michael.
