JAMMU, May 9: Avantika, an organization of contemporary Artists and Intellectuals today honoured educationists, litterateurs and intellectuals with Hari Singh Avantika Awards at an award giving ceremony held at Lawrence Public School, Panjtirthi, here.
Joint Director Information, Smita Sethi was the chief guest on the occasion, while Trustee Maharaja Hari Singh DAV School Nagbani, Captain Dewan Singh, was guest of honour.
National Director Avatika, Anand Aggarwal, Joint Director School Education, SK Gandotra, State President Bharat Scouts & Guides, Isher Dass Sony, President Avantika J&K, Madan Lal Abrol, Director Lawrence Public School, MM Joshi, Commissioner Avantika, Hardev Singh Jamwal, Director DBN, Suresh Sharma, Director May Fair Higher Secondary School, Abhay Basoor, were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Joint Director Information lauded the efforts of Avantika for its untiring, selfless and serious efforts towards promotion of art, culture and education.
National Director Avantika, Anand Aggarwal, highlighted the role of Avantika and said that the organization was selflessly rendering exceptional services in far-off and rural pockets of the State.
Later, the chief guest presented Hari Singh Avintika Awards to State President Bharat Scouts and Guides, I D Soni, Principal MH DAV Central Public School Akhnoor, S Sharma, Principal Vidyapeeth HSS, Bipan Kumar,  Principal SRML HSS, S Dalbir Singh, Principal HSS Circular Road, Promila Jain, Director Nav Yug HSS Subash Nagar, Hardev Singh Jamwal, Director Dewan Badri Nath School, Suresh Kumar, Principal Nav Yug HSS Jammu,  CK Jamwal, Principal Lawrence Public School,  Shakuntala Joshi, Director Shiksha Niketan HSS, Jewan Nagar, Romeshwar Mengi, Principal DAV Public School Nagbani, Alok Betab, Principal DAV Public School RS Pura, TN Kumar, Principal Paramount Convent and Principal New Era Environment School.
A colourful cultural programme featuring a mix of modern and folk dance and music was also presented by the school children, which was highly applauded by the gathering.
