KV 2 celebrates annual day, golden jubilee

JAMMU, May 9: Kendriya Vidyalaya No 2 Jammu Cantonment celebrated its annual day with great zest and zeal in General Zorawar Singh Stadium, here today.
Divisional Traffic Manager, Northern Railway Jammu, R. N Meena was the chief guest on the occasion while Deputy Director Information, Dr Narupa Rai was the guest of honour.
The function was presided over by Deputy Commissioner (KVS JR) A S Gill while senior army officers, VMC members, Principals of KVs and Principals of other schools were also present.
The Principal M Laxmi Narayan, presented annual report of the school highlighting the activities conducted during the session and the landmarks made by the school in academics as well as curricular activities.
A colourful cultural programme was presented, which mesmerized the august gathering.
The ‘Dash Avtaras’ who guided and salvaged humanity was unique and greatly appreciated while ‘Bharat Darshan’ comprising dance forms from different States created a wonderful ambience.
The Principal of the school was honoured for winning the Bharat Vidya Shiromani award by Indian Solidarity Council and also Rashtriya Vidya Gaurav gold medal by International Institute of Education and Management. The meritorious teachers and students were also honoured with certificates and prizes.
The chief guest complimented the Principal, staff and students for their efforts, and hoped they would create new arenas of accomplishment in the forthcoming session.
He impressed upon the teacher fraternity to shape the future of students in such a way that they could contribute in strengthening national integration and sovereignty
Dr Narupa Rai in her address said that the KV centres are doing excellent job in imparting quality education.
The programme ended with vote of thanks by Rita Bhaskar, the senior most PGT of the school.
