REASI, May 4: The Zonal Level Inter-School Tournament of Mahore Zone concluded at Government Higher Secondary School, Mahore, here today.
Over 305 players including 237 boys and 68 girls took part in the 2-Day long Tournament which was inaugurated by Tilak Raj Sharma, Sub District Magistrate Mahore as the chief guest and SDPO Mahore as the guest of honour.
The competitions were held in the disciplines of Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Volleyball and Wrestling in the age groups of Under-14, Under-17 and Under-19.
The tournament was organized by the District Youth Services and Sports Office Reasi under the overall supervision of Dr Swaran Singh Chib, DYSSO Reasi, while the Principal of Higher Secondary School Mahore was the chairperson of the event.
The matches were witnessed by a handsome gathering of prominent citizens of the Area.
The matches were officiaced by Pardeep Nag, Ranjeet Singh, Ajay Billa, Rajesh Kumar, Sanjeev Kumar, Mohd Farooq and Abdul Hussain.
Meanwhile, in Kabaddi boys Under-14, MS Mahore beat Peer Panchal Public HS by 1 point (16-15), in Under-17 boys, HSS Mahore defeated Peer Panchal Public HS by 8 points (18-10) and in Under-19, HSS Mahore beat HSS Shajroo by 16 points (28-12).
In Kho-Kho Under-14 boys, MS Mahore got better of Peer Panchal Public HS by 2 points (9-7), in Under-17 boys, Peer Panchal Public HS prevailed over HSS Mahore by 6 points (13-7) and in Under-19 boys, HSS Mahore beat HSS Shajroo by 5 points (10-5).
In wrestling Under-14 boys, below 35 kg, Tariq Ahmed of HSS Shajroo beat Shamsasdin of HSS Mahore, in 35-40 kg, Asif Ali of Peer Panchal Public HS beat Parvez Ahmed of HS Bagga, while in Under-17 boys, 35-40 kg, Ashfaq Ahmed of HS Bagga beat Mohd Aslam of HSS Mahore, while in 40-45 kg, Javed Ahmed of Peer Panchal Public HS outplayed Mohd Arshad of HSS Shajroo.
Meanwhile, in KhO-Kho Under-14 girls, Mountaineering Convent Public School beat Gulshan Hill Public School by 4 points (24-20) and in Under-17 girls, HSS Mahore beat Peer Panchal Public HS by 8 points (16-8)
Volleyball matches were also held wherein spikers displayed superb skill and technique to vie for the top honours.
