JAMMU, Nov 29: TPM Church XI won title trophy of Heavenly Shepherd Memorial Cup by defeating St Peter School XI, here today.
Batting first, St Peter School XI scored 44 in stipulated overs while TPM Church XI chased the set target easily and lifted the trophy.
SSP Jammu, Shridhar Patil was chief guest while SP North Jammu, PD Nitya was special guest and president DGPC Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee Jammu, Jagjit Singh was guest of honour of the concluding ceremony. Social activist and chairman KCWT Chandan Datta also graced the function.
Total 16 teams participated in the tournament.
Superintendent of Police, PD Nitya appreciated the Zion Sports Club for organising such event and extended full support to initiate such activities.
Datta appealed the youth to stay away from drugs and appreciated the role of the police especially SSP Shridhar Patil to eradicate drugs and other crime from Jammu periphery.
Ashu Peter Mattoo, president of All J&K Christian Sabha extended his greetings to all the dignitaries while Mohd Jasarat Khan, J Charles Davis, Pastor Akbar Masih, Sunny Khokhar, Vicky, Rohit Rockes, Tony Mattoo, Lovely, Harun, Sebastian and Raj Kumar were also present during the function.
