JAMMU, May 7: The 7th District Jammu Kalarippayattu Championship 2025 concluded on a high note at Kotli Bhawan Hall, Rehari, with over 220 athletes showcasing their martial arts prowess. The two-day event, organized by the Kalarippayattu Association of Jammu & Kashmir, featured competitions across Mini, Sub-Junior, Junior and Senior categories.
The opening day was dedicated to Mini Category matches and a special medal ceremony for young achievers. The second day saw intense performances by older athletes, drawing enthusiastic support from the audience.
The Valedictory Function was graced by CA Lalit Gupta, President of the Kalarippayattu Association of J&K, as chief guest and Tarsem Sharma, Founder & CEO of the Association, as guest of honour. Special guests included Danish Sharma (General Secretary) and Mukesh Thakur (Senior Martial Artist & Coach). Speakers praised the athletes and encouraged youth participation in Kalarippayattu to promote fitness, discipline, and cultural heritage.
The championship concluded with a vote of thanks to all participants, coaches, and volunteers, highlighting the growing interest in this ancient martial art in the Union Territory.
