*JKTA announces sub-junior selection trials

DODA/JAMMU, Dec 22: The 6th District Doda Taekwondo Championships 2025–26 concluded successfully at Indoor Sports Hall, Doda, with young athletes showcasing remarkable skill, dedication, and competitive spirit. Organised by Taekwondo Association of District Doda under the aegis of the J&K Taekwondo Association (JKTA) and J&K Sports Council (JKSC), around 150 players representing schools and clubs across the district participated.
During the closing ceremony, Jaffer Haider Sheikh, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Doda, awarded medals and mementos to winners and officials, commending the organisers for promoting Taekwondo at the grassroots level. In the overall team standings, Shield Taekwondo Academy won the Overall Winner Trophy, Falcon Taekwondo Club finished runner-up and Chenab Sports Academy secured 2nd runner-up.
Meanwhile, JKTA announced the J&K Sub-Junior Taekwondo Selection Trials 2025–26 on December 24 at Taekwondo Training Centre, MA Stadium, Jammu. Open to boys and girls aged 7 to 11+ years, participants must hold a JKTA Athlete License, be Green Belt or above, and possess a TFI Colour Belt ID Card. Medalists will represent J&K UT at the 39th National Sub-Junior Kyorugi & 14th National Sub-Junior Poomsae Taekwondo Championships in New Delhi from 13–15 January 2026.
