BARAMULLA, Dec 26: The 6th District Baramulla Taekwondo Championships began at the JKSC Indoor Sports Complex Khwaja Bagh, here today. Organized by the Taekwondo Association of District Baramulla under the aegis of J&K Sports Council and J&K Taekwondo Association, the event sees over 130 athletes competing in Sub Junior, Junior, and Senior categories.
DIG North Kashmir Maqsood ul Zaman graced the opening ceremony as chief guest, with Neha Jain as guest of honour. The Championship is supported by J&K Taekwondo Association, J&K Sports Council and Warm up Electric Hamam (Baramulla).
Maqsood Ul Zaman congratulated all athletes and the organizing committee for hosting this wonderful event. “The event is a testament to the growing talent in Taekwondo in the district,” said Adv Neelofar Masood, Vice President, JKTA, thanking Secretary Sports Council Nuzhat Gul for her support.
Suhail Ahmed Khan (National Referee), Hashim Majeed (National Referee), Mohsin Ali ( SR), Mumtaz Nazir (Organizing Secretary), and Abrar Ibni Akbar (SR) were in the Referee Panel.
