JAMMU, Apr 9: An annual feature of Vishal Cricket Club and the Police Department ‘6th Baisakhi Cricket Cup’ will begin at Parade Ground here from tomorrow.
Rajesh Gill, Chief Prosecuting Officer and former Ranji Trophy Player is the Coordinator of the Tournament.
The slogan of the tournament is “Celebrating Baisakhi with love through sports” and the objective is to save the young generation from drug abuse, besides promoting sports culture.
The event conduct committee includes SSP RK Bhat, Chief Prosecuting Officer Rajesh Gill, Rajesh Dhar, Vijay Saberwal, Ashish Singh, Sanjeev Mahajan, Sudhir Singh, Saleem-ur-Rehman, Madan Mohan, Sunil Sambyal and Anand Tripathi.
The participating teams includes Road Safety Department, Parade Sports Club, KC Sports Club, Simula Club, Horizon Club, GF Club, Singh Club Akhnoor and Vishal Cricket Club.
The Sponsors of the championship are M/S Horizon Group of Industries and Jammu Wine Traders Association.
JP Singh Inspector General of Police Personnel, Police Headquarters Jammu will inaugurate the tournament.
The first match of the tournament will be held between Road Safety Club and Parade Sports Club at 9.30 am and the second match will be played between KC Sports Club and Horizon Club at 1 pm.
